1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Offroad Build Lab (ORBL) is an off-road vehicle build simulator and community available on the web and in iOS and Android apps. This policy explains how we handle information when you use ORBL, create an account, save builds, post in Community, subscribe to ORBL Pro, or contact support. For questions or privacy requests, use the Contact us form.

2. Information we handle

  • Account and profile: Email address, account identifier, sign-in credentials handled by our authentication provider, and information received from Apple or Google if you choose those sign-in options. Your profile may contain a display name, photo, bio, cover photo, favorite terrain, social-media links and language preference. We do not ask you to send us your password by email or support form.
  • Builds and activity: Vehicles, selected parts, custom mods, configurations, calculated results, saved Garage builds, build photos, comparisons, post saves, reactions, ratings, comments, questions, mod reviews, reports, blocks and the dates of those actions.
  • Photos and content you provide: Images and text you upload or publish, including profile and cover images, vehicle photos, Community posts and support messages. A photo may contain information visible in the image, such as a person, a license plate or a location.
  • Purchases: Subscription product, store, status and entitlement information needed to grant access and restore purchases. Apple or Google processes your payment; we do not receive your full payment card number.
  • Notifications and device information: If you allow push notifications, a device token, platform and related delivery records so we can send Community activity notices. The app or its providers may also receive technical information needed for security and operation, such as device and app details, IP address, timestamps and error records.
  • Local preferences and cookies: Some settings and build data are stored on your device. Certain builds and preferences can also be synced to your account. On the website, your browser also stores cookies and similar data (for example from our authentication provider) to keep you signed in and remember your choices. When ads are shown on the web, Google and its partners may also set cookies, as described in section 5.
  • Support: Name, reply email, topic and message you submit through the public support form or by email.

3. How we use information

We use this information to provide accounts and sign-in, save and sync builds, calculate and display results, operate Community, show profiles and public content, send requested notifications, process subscription access, respond to support and privacy requests, moderate reports, prevent abuse, secure the service and diagnose problems. We use optional profile information and settings to personalize your experience.

ORBL's horsepower, fuel-economy and other performance figures are estimates for planning; they are not measurements of your specific vehicle.

4. What other people can see

Community posts, comments, reviews, ratings, the display name and profile information you choose to publish can be viewed by others, including visitors who are not signed in. A Garage build is public by default when saved to the account unless you change that build's visibility to private. Review its visibility and photos before saving or sharing. A private build is accessible to its owner in the app, but images uploaded to ORBL's public photo storage may still be accessible to anyone with their direct URL; do not upload sensitive images. Other people may copy or save content they can see, and those copies may remain after you delete it from ORBL.

Reports you submit and the accounts you block are not displayed publicly as your profile content. Our authorized moderators may review reports and the associated content to address abuse.

5. Service providers and external sites

We use Supabase for authentication, database and photo storage; RevenueCat to help manage subscription entitlements; Apple App Store / Google Play for purchases and sign-in where selected; Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver optional push notifications; and FormSubmit for messages sent through our support form. These providers process the information needed to perform those services on our behalf or under their own applicable terms.

ORBL may show links to manufacturers, retailers and search providers. Some Amazon and eBay links contain affiliate identifiers, which may earn us a commission if you make a qualifying purchase. If you choose to open an external AI service such as ChatGPT or Gemini, ORBL copies your generated build prompt for you to paste there; ORBL does not automatically send that prompt to those services. Once you leave ORBL, the destination's privacy practices apply.

Advertising: ORBL uses Google AdMob to display third-party ads in supported placements, including MODS and Community, for users without an active ORBL PRO subscription. AdMob and its advertising partners may receive IP address (which may be used to estimate coarse location), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and crash, performance and other diagnostic data. These data may be used to deliver and measure ads, analyze performance, prevent fraud and maintain the advertising service. See Google’s advertising privacy information.

Advertising on the web: On offroadbuildlab.com, ORBL may show ads served by Google AdSense to visitors without an active ORBL PRO subscription. Advertising on the web is separate from AdMob in the apps. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. When ORBL shows ads on the web, it presents, where the law requires it, a consent message (through a Google-certified consent management platform) before requesting ads that use cookies or personal data, and you can change your choice from that same message when it is offered. You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info. Ads do not change the calculations, specifications or recommendations ORBL shows.

6. Your choices

Advertising consent and tracking permission are separate choices. In the native app, Google’s User Messaging Platform checks consent requirements before advertising is enabled and presents consent messages where required and configured. On iOS, ORBL requests App Tracking Transparency permission when applicable before loading ads. If you authorize tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used for advertising and measurement across companies’ apps and websites. If you decline, ORBL does not obtain IDFA; you can still use the app. Declining ATT does not by itself mean all ads are non-personalized. Where required by UMP, you can reopen advertising privacy choices from Profile → Privacy options (ads). You can also change tracking permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Active ORBL PRO subscribers do not receive these ads.

You can edit your profile and build visibility, remove posts or builds where the app offers those controls, block users, and turn push notifications off in your device settings. You can ask us about information associated with your account, request correction, or seek deletion through the Contact us form. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

To delete your account in the app or at offroadbuildlab.com, sign in and go to Profile → Account (tap your avatar) → Delete account. You can also begin a deletion request without signing in through Account deletion. Deleting the account removes the account, associated builds and Community contributions, and the photos stored for it from ORBL's active systems, subject to information we must retain under applicable law. Deleting an ORBL account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription; manage it in your device's subscription settings or the applicable store.

7. Retention and security

We keep account and content information while your account is active or while needed to provide the service. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from the active service as described above. Limited records may be retained when needed for legal obligations, security or dispute resolution. Provider backups and logs, if any, may follow their own deletion cycles. Support correspondence is kept as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain a record of the request.

We use authenticated access controls, restricted database permissions and encrypted connections where appropriate. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not post passwords, payment card numbers, precise home addresses or other sensitive information in Community or the support form.

8. Children and international processing

ORBL is intended for people age 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate. We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Applicable privacy protections and rights continue to apply.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ORBL changes. We will post the new effective date here and provide additional notice when required. For questions or privacy requests, use Contact us. To request account deletion without signing in, visit Account deletion.
